The media converter FL MC 2000E LC from Phoenix Contact converts the 100Base-TX copper based to 100Base-FX fiber optic based Ethernet interfaces.

Using the Cut Through packet handling approach, latencies can be as short as 700 ns. This allows the media converters to be used for Sercos^® III. The devices can be used for multimode or singlemode fiber cable. Distances up to 40 km can be covered reliable.

The robust devices work reliably under extreme environmental conditions and comply with the IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards. DIP switch configuration for "Link-Fault-Pass-Through”, allows the fiber link status to be reported back to the TX connected devices.

The redundant wide-range power supply of 12 … 57 VDC and the extended temperature range  of -40 °C … +75 °C allows different applications.
